We’re strong enough to bear the children, but when we do we can’t even take time off work to take care of our families.
We’re college grads, but we still get paid less than men for the same work.
We know whether or not we want to have children or not have children, and that we deserve to parent the children we have in safe and healthy environments, but some elected leaders keep trying to limit the opportunities that we have to control our reproductive destinies.
I hope that you’ll join former Texas State Senator Wendy Davis, Gretchen Whitmer, Rep. Stephanie Chang, Rep. Erica Geiss, and hundreds of badass women (and some pretty kick ass men) who are working together to rebuild our state and create a Michigan where all women and families have an equal opportunity to succeed.
The Women and Families Economic Security Summit will be held on May 27th at the Mackinaw Bridge City Vista Beach Hotel & Convention Center, 1027 South Huron Ave, Mackinaw City, MI 49721.
At the same time, well-connected business lobbyists will be rubbing elbows with our elected leaders on Mackinac Island to talk about how to jumpstart Michigan’s economy. Let’s remind them that our issues need to be a part of that conversation; don’t take a back seat.
